Lagos advances Women Economic Empowerment plan with interagency coordination sessions
The Lagos State Government has commenced coordinated capacity sessions for officials across eleven ministries, departments and agencies to implement the state Women Economic Empowerment policy. The sessions focus on policy harmonization, development planning, gender data integration and design of market linked support schemes for women led enterprises.
Officials emphasize that Lagos aims to strengthen its economic inclusion framework by widening opportunities for women in trade, innovation, technology, housing, food systems and transport related value chains. The programme will introduce targeted funding streams, advisory support for microenterprises and strategic partnerships with private institutions.
Policy analysts observe that Lagos is moving toward a structured model for gender focused economic planning driven by measurable outputs, including job creation, enterprise survival rates and expanded market access.
